VIEW Lights, Action, Enjoy By Greg Lamp Pack up the kids and head to Sibley Park in Mankato, Minn., to take in more than a million twinkling holiday lights set to music — and see live reindeer — at the second-annual Kiwanis Holiday Lights extravaganza. You can drive or walk through the entire display. There’s even a warming house with a panoramic view to accommodate guests with limited mobility or special needs. Last year the spectacular LED lights dazzled 100,000 visitors. Better yet, those sightseers donated more than 13 tons of food plus generous amounts of cash to local food shelves. If last year is any indicator, expect to see a few marriage proposals at this year’s display, too. The 2013 version promises to be even bigger and better than last year, say major sponsors Kiwanis and CHS. The volunteer-run Holiday Lights opens the day after Thanksgiving and ends New Year’s Eve with fi reworks.
