LUBES? The Equipment Lookup tool provides three levels of recommendations based on OEM expectations and customer acceptance. The levels are categorized as ultra-premium, premium and standard. “Farmers and other businesses can easily see their choices for upgrading to a better lubricant,” says Barstad. “Those decisions can help them gain signifi cant advantages, such as extended drain times, better cold-weather performance and a reduced carbon footprint.” Incredibly Helpful “It’s a good tool with in-depth and wide-ranging information,” says Barstad, who recently assisted a construction company looking for advice on lubricating front-end loaders and road crushing equipment. “We found everything we needed, including specifi cations based on the serial numbers of certain pieces of equipment.” Barstad usually uses his smartphone to access the Cenex website Equipment Lookup feature, although he also has searched the database from laptop and desktop computers. Even on a phone, the tool displays the full range of lubricants recommended for equipment, including engine oils, transmission fluids, hydraulic fluids and greases. In a snap, users can look up additional pieces of equipment or vehicles for farm or fl eet. “Millennial farmers, in particular, tend to prefer doing a little online research before connecting with their cooperative for recommendations and advice,” says Hamilton. “We encourage farmers and other end users to use this feature frequently.” CHS plans to update the cenex.com Equipment Lookup tool quarterly and a dealer-only feature will be introduced to arm lubrication specialists with more information to better serve customers. “With this new tool, we all save time. We give customers concrete answers. And we can access more in-depth information for a more productive discussion.” The tool also provides service intervals and volumes for engine oil, transmission fl uid, hydraulics, coolant and differentials/gear boxes. “That information is available in owner manuals, of course,” Barstad adds, “but who has all their manuals handy when they need them?” “The days of going into a farm m store and picking up a universal al tractor fl uid are numbered,” says Hamilton. “You really need to follow manufacturer specifi cations carefully for all the diff erent types of lubricants s needed to protect your equipment and your warranty.” Using this simple tool on cenex.com can lead to better performance and better protection for high-tech equipment, which is better for your bottom line, Barstad says. ■ SEE MORE Check out the new Equipment Lookup kup tool at cenex.com. om.
