VIEW Smooth Sailing CHS Transportation drivers cover more than 31 million miles every year, delivering nearly 200,000 loads of refined and renewable fuels, propane, crop nutrients, and soybean oil to customers. Despite the hectic pace in 2007, they achieved an accident-free incidence rate of better than 99.98 — a safety record remarkable enough to receive a second consecutive Liberty Mutual Gold Award, which requires winners to reduce accidents by at least 26 percent from the previous year. Still, CHS Transportation strives to do even better, with targeted programs in driver training and fleet-safety compliance.
