Pro Team Helps Make Marketing Decisions
In its first offering year, the CHS Pro Advantage contract exceeded expectations for interest by corn and soybean growers. A summer offering for soft and hard red winter wheat also brought strong bushel sign-ups. What’s the attraction?
“Producers appreciate having choices,” explains Kent Beadle, marketing manager for Russell Consulting Group. “This program gives them a way to diversify their crop marketing and get professionally priced bushels in a straightforward contract.”
CHS Pro Advantage, a CHS grain contract, lets farmers pledge quantities of bushels to be priced by trading professionals at CHS Hedging and Russell Consulting Group. The basis decision remains with the grower. One- and two-year sign-ups are available.
“This is a great way for farmers to take advantage of pricing by experts who have track records of success, especially during times of volatile or low-priced commodity markets,” says John Whittle, CHS merchandiser.
