On the cover: Inland storage is one limiting factor for handling huge harvests. Supporting Next-Generation Leaders During a recent visit to the CHS office in Inver Grove Heights, Minn., FFA Southern Region Vice President Chelsea Doss thanked William Nelson, president of the CHS Foundation, for the company’s and foundation’s ongoing commitment to next-generation leadership development. Through that commitment, CHS and the CHS Foundation recently awarded $129,700 to National FFA in continued support of its mission to develop student leadership, personal growth and career potential through agricultural education. The donation will support 500,000 FFA members in ag-related activities and programs, leading to more than 300 diverse career opportunities in the food, fiber and natural resources industries. “FFA’s cutting-edge programs are a strong fit with the CHS Foundation commitment to the future of agribusiness, cooperatives and rural America,” says Nelson. CHS and the CHS Foundation support FFA on both state and national levels, and sponsor the FFA proficiency awards in the areas of ag processing, diversified crop production, food science and technology, and creed speaking. — Jessie Frank •• CONTACT US •• Visit chsinc.com/c to tell us what you think about C magazine.
